Concert and Private Appointment Policies:
Rates and Policies (updated April 2024):
Retail Rates (within 20 minutes travel from Portsmouth*):
Annual tuning: $175*
Initial tuning/non-annual tuning: $195**
Concert tuning: $235***
Additional work/pitch-correction: $120/hour or by estimate
*within 30 minutes the tuning fee is $195
*within 45 minutes (including north of York tolls) the tuning fee is $215
**an initial/non-annual tuning allows for an extra 10 minutes for a minor adjustment or tightening of case parts. A follow-up tuning may be recommended.
***for special circumstances such as after-hours, weekends, pitch-correction, etc.
Policies:
48-hours notice is required for cancellation or rescheduling or you may always leave a key or have a neighbor there to allow for access.
Appointments canceled within 48 hours may be billed at retail or contract rates.
At least one hour to ninety-minutes of quiet must be provided.
All decorations must be removed from the piano and space provided around the upper treble (right-of-keyboard) side of the piano. We accept no liability if an item has to be moved or removed for service.
The temperature should be set to performance temperature (>65º in winter <75º in summer)
Contract concert tuning dates should be provided at the beginning of each school year or semester and at least one month in advance for scheduling purposes.
Discounted rates apply to appointments scheduled at least one month in advance.
Emergency service (anything scheduled or added within 24-72 hours) may be subject to an additional fee.
Venues, schools and Church accounts should provide a key, lockbox code, or keyed entry code for scheduling recurring service.
Concert tunings, artist contract riders, after-hours and weekend appointments are scheduled and priced individually according to contract requirements.
There may be additional hourly-rate charges for schedule changes, waiting time, and being on-call or on-site.
Client is responsible for providing parking and/or any additional time or fees incurred.
Client is responsible for providing all necessary paperwork (W9, COI, etc.) in advance of the appointment and for direct payment of invoice within 10 days unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
The piano must be set-up in place prior to arrival. We accept no liability for having to move a piano for service.
Invoices may be paid by check or by ACH and are due within 10 days or subject to a 10% late fee per month.
Client is responsible for any overdraft fees and/or legal costs incurred in enforcing any of the above.
By scheduling service, the client agrees to all aforementioned policies.
